On 11 August, MINURSO observed the Independence Day of Chad by raising the national flag at the Mission HQ in Laayoune next to the UN flag. Chad , Africa’s fifth-largest country, gained its independence on 11 August 1960.
On 7 August, MINURSO marked Côte d'Ivoire’s National Day by raising the Ivorian flag alongside the UN flag at its headquarters in Laayoune. This day commemorates Côte d’Ivoire’s independence from France, achieved in 1960.
On 1 August, MINURSO marked Switzerland's National Day by hoisting the Swiss flag alongside the UN flag at the Mission Headquarters.
On July 23, MINURSO celebrated Egypt’s National Day by raising the Egyptian flag alongside the United Nations flag at its headquarters.
On 14 July, MINURSO hoisted France’s national flag at Mission Headquarters in celebration of the country’s National Day.
On 11 July, MINURSO marked the celebration of Mongolia’s State Flag Day by hoisting the national flag at the Mission HQ next to the UN flag.
On 9 July, MINURSO hoisted Argentina’s national flag at Mission Headquarters in celebration of the country’s Independence Day.
On 6 July, MINURSO marked Malawi’s Independence Day by raising the Malawian flag alongside the UN flag at the Mission’s headquarters.
On 4 July, MINURSO marked the United States' National Day by hoisting the U.S. flag alongside the UN flag at its headquarters in Laayoune.
On 25 June, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of MINURSO, Alexander Ivanko, in the presence of the Mission’s Force Commander Major General MD Fakhrul Ahsan and the Deputy Force Commander Brigadier-General Gabriel Esho, presided over the Change of Command
