MINURSO PEACEKEEPERS: NATIONAL DAY OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE

On 7 August, MINURSO marked Côte d'Ivoire’s National Day by raising the Ivorian flag alongside the UN flag at its headquarters in Laayoune. This day commemorates Côte d’Ivoire’s independence from France, achieved in 1960. As of 31 May 2025, Côte d'Ivoire contributes a total of 252 peacekeepers to UN missions around the world, including with MINURSO .

The national flag of Côte d'Ivoire features three vertical bands: orange, white, and green. Orange symbolizes the land and savannahs, white reflects hope, unity, and peace, while green represents the southern forests, nature, and a brighter future.

Thank you, Côte d'Ivoire!
