On the occasion of the UN Day, on 24 October MINURSO organized a ceremony at the Mission HQ presided over by the Force Commander and Officer-in-Charge of the Mission, Maj. Gen. MD Fakhrul Ahsan in the presence of the Chief of Mission Support, Ms. Veneranda Mukandoli-Jefferson, Chiefs of Sections as well as civilian and military personnel.

 All International and National Staff Members who have served in the United Nations Common System for over 10 years of cumulative service as of 1 August 2023 were granted a Long Service Award Certificate, while the staff who have retired in the last year were granted a Staff Recognition Certificate.

The Long Service Awards and Staff Recognition Certificates bearing the UN Secretary-General’ signature aim to pay tribute to the important efforts of the staff members achieved while serving the UN.
