On 3 October, MINURSO celebrated the ‘German Unity Day’ by raising the German flag at the Mission HQ in Laayoune.
On 2 October, MINURSO raised the flag of the Republic of Guinea at the Mission's headquarters in Laayoune to commemorate the country’s National Day.
On 1 October 2024, MINURSO raised the flag of the People’s Republic of China at the Mission HQ in Laayoune to mark the country’s National Day.
On 1 October 2024, MINURSO celebrated Nigeria’s National Day by raising its national flag at the Mission HQ in Laayoune.

As we mark the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, I invite you to return for a moment to our earliest days.
Our warring world is crying out for peace.
This year’s International Day of Peace urges each of us to give voice to that call.
On 16 September, MINURSO observed Mexico’s national day by raising the Mexican flag at the Mission HQ in Laayoune.
On 15 September, MINURSO observed the National Days of the Republics of El Salvador and Honduras by raising their flags at the Mission HQ in Laayoune next to the UN flag.
On 7 September, MINURSO celebrated the National Day of Brazil by raising the country’s national flag at the Mission HQ in Laayoune. This day marks Brazil's declaration of independence from Portugal in 1822.
