On 11 October, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous visited Tindouf. He was accompanied by Wolfgang Weisbrod-Weber, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Western Sahara and Head of MINURSO.

The Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations paid a visit to the Polisario leadership at Rabouni (Algeria) where he met the Polisario Coordinator with MINURSO M'hamed Khaddad accompanied him to meet other Polisario officials including women, representatives of civil society and grass roots organizations in Camp Boujdour.

Hervé Ladsous and Wolfgang Weisbrod-Weber had a meeting with the Secretary-General of Polisario, Mohammed Abdelaziz, who was accompanied by other Frente's officials. They discussed the activities of MINURSO and cooperation with Polisario, especially on security issues as well as regional developments.

After a visit to the MINURSO premises in Tindouf, where he met Mission's staff and the representatives of other UN agencies operating there, Ladsous then proceeded to visit the Team Sites of Oum Dreyga and Mijek, where he was received by the Force Commander, Major-General Abdul Hafiz, and the Military Observers. The UN officials received briefings on the operational activities of MINURSO.
