On 9 July MINURSO hoisted at the Mission HQ the national flag of Argentina to mark the country’s Independence Day.

Since 1958, Argentina has contributed more than 50,000 military and police personnel to UN missions. Currently, Argentinian peacekeepers are serving in eight operations led by the Department of Peace Operations.

In MINURSO, three Military Observers from Argentina carry out the Mission’s important work at the Teams Sites, while facing the challenging and austere conditions of the Sahara desert.
