On 25 June, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of MINURSO, Alexander Ivanko, in the presence of the Mission’s Force Commander Major General MD Fakhrul Ahsan and the Deputy Force Commander Brigadier-General Gabriel Esho,  presided over the Change of Command ceremony between the 13th and 14th Bangladesh Medical Units (BMU) at MINURSO Headquarters in Laayoune.

During his address, the SRSG commended the outstanding contributions of the outgoing team and extended his best wishes for success to the incoming BMU personnel. He and the Force Commander also awarded UN Medals to the departing BMU military members in recognition of their dedicated service to MINURSO.
